Rev. Charles Herman Faddis, Sr., age 96 of Boise, Idaho and Knoxville, Tennessee, went to heaven on January 14, 2023. He had pastored several Baptist Churches in East Tennessee including Bethany Baptist Church where he is a member. He was in WW II, the 76th Army Infantry, fought in the Battle of the Bulge, received the Bronze Star, served as Gen. Patton's First Scout, and was in the Korean War.
Preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Mary Lee Cameron Faddis, parents Charles Earl and Hattie Orrick Faddis, sister Mildred Daniels and infant sister Mary Ruth Faddis. He is a direct descendant of Alexander Faddis of Aberdeen, Scotland.
Survivors: daughter and son-in-law Sandy and Greg Hall, son and daughter-in-law Darrell and JoAnn Faddis, son Charles H. Faddis, Jr., 6 grandchildren, and 13 great grandchildren.
Friends may call at their convenience on Saturday, from 9:00 am until 2:00 pm. Receiving of friends will be from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm Saturday, January 21, 2023, at Mynatt Funeral Home Halls Chapel. Funeral service will be held at 3:00 pm Sunday, January 22, 2023 at Mynatt Funeral Home Halls Chapel, officiated by Rev. Donnie McGinnis and Rev. Gary Vandergriff, with the interment to immediately follow funeral service at Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery with Military Honors, conducted by Volunteer State Veterans Honor Guard.
