Retha Jane Persinger

Retha Jane Persinger, known as “Mim”, age 97, of Corryton, Tennessee, was born September 4, 1919 in Caldwell, West Virginia and passed away Saturday, May 20, 2017 at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center in Knoxville, Tennessee. She was a member of Pump Springs Baptist Church. She was a housewife most of her life and ran a Nursery with her husband for a time in West Virginia. She was a current resident at the Courtyard Senior Living Center. She was preceded in death by husband, Grover Persinger, parents, and several brothers and sisters. Survivors include: special child, Ralynne Gent, and husband Shane; grandchildren Noah, Sarah, and Rachel Gent of Corryton Tennessee; and sister Margaret Price of Caldwell, West Virginia. A private graveside service was held at Fairview Baptist Cemetery on Sunday, May 21, 2017, with Rev. Harry Lee Gent officiating and Ginger Beason reading her eulogy. Music by Alan Jackson. Shane Gent, Noah Gent, Harry Gent, Dustin Gent, Roger Vannoy, Sarah Gent, and Rachel Gent served as pallbearers.
