Reba E. Lawson

Mrs. Reba E. Lawson was known as many things to many people. She was a loved one, a friend, and someone special. To family and friends who knew her best, Reba will be remembered as a very exceptional person.       She born April 4, 1915 in Knox County, Tennessee, the daughter of Frank and Sarah Smith Cooper.      Reba was raised with two siblings. She had brother, Ralph, and a sister, Nellie.      Reba was fortunate enough to have found love twice in her life. She was married to Robert W. Jarnigan and Carl Lawson, both of whom preceded her in death. Reba worked hard to be a good mother to her children and she did her best to fulfill their needs. Reba was blessed with five children, Robert, Bryant, Alma, Kenneth, and Wallace. Reba was a graduate of Southland College. Fortunately, Reba enjoyed what she did for a living. Showing a strong work ethic, Reba worked diligently and did her best to succeed in her career. Her primary occupation was in the healthcare industry. She retired from Knoxville Convalescent Home.       Reba’s faith was important to her. She was a member of Oakwood Baptist Church.      Reba passed away on October 27, 2012 at Tennova Physicians Regional Medical Center. She is survived by children Alma Bayless and husband Ron, Kenneth R. Jarnigan, Wallace Jarnigan and significant other Barbara Davenport. Daughters in law, Nancy Jarnigan, Denise Jarnigan and Carol Jarnigan all of Knoxville. Grandchildren, Hutch Jarnigan of Port St. Lucie, FL, Teri Jarnigan of Abingdon, VA, Kenneth R. Jarnigan Jr, Pam Jarnigan, Paula Kathmann and Jennifer Smith all of California, Eleanor Bodden, Kimberly DeVault, Lori Snyder, Jeff Jarnigan, Kenneth P. Jarnigan, Jerry Jarnigan, Joe Jarnigan all of Knoxville, TN, 26 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. Services were held at Mynatt Funeral Home Fountain City Chapel. Reba was then laid to rest in Highland Memorial West Cemetery.      Simply stated, Reba was a good and kind person, an individual who will for all time be remembered by her family and friends as being a caring and giving person, someone who was a vital part of their lives. Reba leaves behind her a legacy of life-long friendships and many cherished memories. Everyone whose life she touched will always remember Mrs. Reba E. Lawson.
