Raymond “Ray” E. Stone of Knoxville, Tennessee went to be with the Lord April 28, 2021. He was 91 years old. Born in Ogdensberg, New York to Raymond D. Stone and Cora Stone on January 5, 1930. He grew up in Knoxville, Tennessee where he attended Knoxville High School and The University of Tennessee. He served in the Air Force and travelled the world playing trumpet in the Air Force Band, The Airmen of Note, as well as the Lawrence Welk Band. After his honorable discharge from the Air Force, Ray worked as an executive for Marriott Hotels as the Director of Consumer Affairs and setup the hotels first consumer affairs division. Later in life Ray came to know the Lord and had an immense impact in the lives of others, pouring into people in need of the love of Jesus through his generosity of time and resources.
Ray leaves behind his daughters Alexandra Stone Bongiorno, Suzanna Stone and Samantha Kee. Sons Raymond C. Stone and James R. Stone, as well as his wife and mother of his children; Helen Stone and brother Ron Stone. Grandchildren Taylor and Ryan Bongiorno along with 12 other grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, May 12, 2021 at 12:30 in the afternoon at East Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery in Knoxville, Tennessee. Online condolences may be left at www.mynattfh.com.
