Ray Leon Long

Ray Leon Long age 84, of Heiskell, TN., met his Lord and Savior on Monday, February 10, 2025. He was a man of his word that may or may not be to one’s liking, but he was all about the truth. Leon was saved at a young age at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, where he remained as a member. He worked at Y-12 Oak Ridge for 23 years as a mechanic. He had special friends there which carried over into retirement. Leon was very gifted in getting a car to run and would help anyone that asked. He had the ability to restore old cars and trucks from the frame up, wiring and all, that made beautiful collectables. 

He was preceded in death by daughters, Pam Long Irwin and Teresa Long Grant; grandson, Cullen Irwin; son-in-law, Robert Bob Harvey; parents, Henry Lossen and Bonnie Long; sister, Lura Jane Carden, and brothers, Roy Long, Glen Long and Monroe Long. 

He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Judy Hutchenson Long; daughter, Robin Harvey; grandchildren, Brooke (Jason) Kitts, Paige (Mikey) Cruse, and Drew Williams; five great-grandchildren, which he absolutely loved so much, Carley Kitts, Jayden Kitts, Kendall Kitts, Archer Cruse, and Syler Williams; remaining siblings, Elsie Kibbler, Dorothy Cate, Louise (Trent) McNeely, Darlene (Chris) Irwin, Arlie (Adina) Long, and Benny (Vickie) Long; several nieces and nephews, and many friends.

Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery (Anderson Co.) for a 1:00 PM graveside service officiated by a good friend, and Pastor Tom Aiken.
