Ray D. Spiva, age 81, passed away March 1, 2014 at U. T. Medical Center. Retired from The United States Army in 1973 after 22 years of service, apartment maintenance supervisor for 20 years and drove the Boys and Girls Club bus in South Knoxville. Survivors, son, David Spiva and wife, Toni, daughters, Susan Myers, Vicki Byrd, Donna Holbert and husband, Kevin and Evelyn Spiva, grandsons, David Spiva, Jr. and wife, Sara, Bobby Spiva and wife, Reva, Ricky Spiva, Korey Holbert, granddaughters, Kim Owens, Kaitlyn Holbert and Savannah Holbert, great grandchildren, Lance, Leland, Payton and Alex, Special friends, Billie Ruth Spiva, Marie Call and Marsha Stone. The family will receive friends 4-6 Tuesday at New Victory Baptist Church 923 West Baxter Ave. with a memorial service to follow. Family and friends will meet 11:15 at the Tennessee Veterans Cemetery on Gov. John Sevier Highway for interment at 11:30 AM with Pastor Rusty Sharp officiating.
