Ralph Roberts, age 86 passed from this life into Glory peacefully surrounded by his family, Tuesday morning September 19th at 2:45 am at his home. He proudly served in the United States Air Force as a staff sergeant in the Korean war. He was retired from Tucker Steel. He loved to fish, hunt, and dance. He is fishing now in the Crystal river. He was a member of Valley View Baptist Church, presently attending Brandville Baptist Church.
Preceded in death by his parents, Louie and Hattie Roberts; brothers, Tom and Jessie Roberts; and his sister Geraldine McMillan.
He leaves his loving wife, soul mate, and best friend of 31 years, Blanche Roberts. He also leaves his children, Debbie Mitchell (Johnny), Sandy Alexander (Roger), Keith Roberts (Darla), Ralph “Buster” Roberts (Jill); step-children, Jerry Murr (Kathie) Johnny Murr (Louise) Ernie Murr (Angela) and Linda Mahan; brothers, Frank Roberts, John Roberts (Faye), and sister Bobbie Widner; 18 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and a host of wonderful friends.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Amedisys Hospice and his special nurse, Jennifer Singleton that took care of him and showed so much love to our family. Thanks to all who prayed during this difficult time.
The family will receive friends Friday, September 22nd, 2017 from 5 to 7 at Mynatt Funeral Home Halls Chapel, with service to follow at 7 pm. The Reverend Glen Beeler, Charlie Lynch and his grandson Jeremiah Baker will be officiating. Family and friends will meet 10:45am Saturday, September 23rd, 2017 at Union Baptist Cemetery on Washington Pike for graveside service at 11 am. Grandsons and great grandsons are honored to be pallbearers.
