R. G. Roy Gilbert Pratt, Jr.

Roy Gilbert Pratt Jr. (R.G.) Age, 76, He was born August 5, 1948, was surrounded by family and square dance friends when he went to his heavenly home on January 27, 2025. He was a member of Salem Baptist Church in the Halls community. R.G. was Mr. Square Dance and spent countless hours making sure everything ran the correct way. He and friend Sheila Beckley were co-chairs of the Tennessee Square and Round dance convention for 12 years. He was involved in every way possible with square dance. He will surely be missed by family, friends, and the square dance world. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy Gilbert Pratt Sr. and Lena Edna Fawver Pratt, sisters Sue Shelton and Hazel Trentham. R.G. is survived by his wife, Royce Hackworth Pratt, sons, Gil (Christina) Pratt, Clint (LaDonna) Pratt, and sister, Doris Varner. Family will receive friends Friday, January 31, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Mynatt Funeral Home, Halls Chapel, with funeral service to follow at 7:00 PM. Reverend Toby Everett will be officiating. Family and friends will meet by 10:45 AM Saturday, February 1, 2025, at Woodhaven Memorial Gardens for an 11:00 AM interment service.
