Phyllis J Smith

Phyllis Jeanette (Miller) Smith, age 88 of Powell, TN, entered into the presence of the Lord on Sunday, February 16, 2025. 

Phyllis was a member of First Baptist Church of Powell for over 60 years, serving Jesus through the Willing Workers Ladies Sunday School Class. She retired from Powell Elementary School as a dedicated cafeteria worker. Most of all, Phyllis loved her family.

She is preceded in death by her daughter, Susan P. Smith; mother, Lucille Miller; brother, Billy F. Miller and son-in-law, Jim Wiseman.

She is survived by her loving husband of 71 years, Paul Smith; children, Pam (Tony) Shults and Jeff (Tina) Smith; grandchildren, Lance Loyd, Amanda and Daron Long, Ryan and Logan Loyd, Jason Smith, Sara Smith and John Collins, Carrie and Chucky Young, Phillip and Morgan Wiseman; great-grandchildren, T.C. and Gwynna Loyd, Hunter and Tanner Loyd, Brianna and Dakota Loyd, Jared and Ella Long, Jack and Logan Smith, Alannah Lindsey, Henry and Corbin Wiseman; great-great grandchild, Ashton Loyd as well as several cousins, close family and friends.

The family will receive friends Thursday, February 20, 2025 from 5:00pm - 7:00pm at First Baptist Church of Powell with a funeral service to follow at 7:00pm.  Pastor Tim McGhee officiating.  Family and friends will meet Friday, February 21, 2025 at 2:45pm at Lynnhurst Cemetery for a 3:00pm interment service.  Pallbearers will be Phillip Wiseman, Jeff Smith, Jason Smith, Jack Smith, Logan Smith and Jared Long.
