Phyllis Marie (Wolfenbarger) West

Phyllis Marie (Wolfenbarger) West, age 76, of Knoxville, went home to be with her Savior and reunited with her husband and love of her life, Wilburn West, with family by her side, on Sunday, April 23, 2017. Marie was born July 21, 1940, daughter of the late Rev. Sam and Pauline Wolfenbarger. She was married to Wilburn for 58 years and together they raised a son and daughter. Marie was a member of Raccoon Valley Church of God whom the people there she considered family. She was a devoted mother, had a loving heart, sweet spirit and smile, cherished family and friends and enjoyed studying the Bible and sharing her faith with others. Preceded in death by her husband, Wilburn; parents; and sister, Tavie. She leaves her loving memories to be cherished by her son, Wilburn R. West, Jr. and wife Belinda; daughter, Dolores Phipps; grandchildren, Jody and Chris Layman; sisters, Sue Winters, Elaine Browning and husband Ralph; special niece, Sonai Hylton and husband Haris Spahic; several nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. The family will receive friends 5:00 – 7:00 pm Tuesday at Mynatt Funeral Home Halls Chapel with funeral service to follow, Rev. Don Fox officiating. Family and friends will meet 10:45 am Wednesday at Mt. Harmony Cemetery, Raccoon Valley Road, Heiskell for 11:00 am interment. Nephews will be honored to serve as pallbearers.
