Phyllis Sue Chapman Cole

Phyllis Chapman Cole passed peacefully in her sleep on August 6, 2023. Phyllis would have been 89 years old if she had lived until August 11, 2023. She and her husband John were married 71 years July 11, 2023. Phyllis graduated from Central High School in Knoxville, TN and was employed at the University of Tennessee for 30 years. Phyllis was a member of Bookwalter United Methodist Church. Left to mourn Phyllis’s death are her husband John, son and daughter in law, Steve and Barbara Cole of Knoxville. Daughter and son in law, Teresa and Russ Simpson of White, Georgia. Sister, Lou Cox of Knoxville. grandson and wife, Brian and Joy Cole. Great grandchildren, along with Mya and Crosby Cole, of Knoxville. Several step grandchildren and great grandchildren, along with several nieces and nephews. The family wishes to thank the employees at Rain Forest Landing Assisted Living and Memory Care, and UT Hospice for their love and support during Phyllis’ long illness. Family will receive friends on Thursday, August 10, 2023 at Mynatt Funeral Home Fountain City Chapel from 5:00-7:00PM with a 7:00PM service to follow, Pastor Steven Doyal officiating.
