Phyllis Norman Brandon, age 78, passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, January 20, 2025. Born January 16, 1947, Phyllis was a proud graduate of Central High School ‘65 and the University of Tennessee in Knoxville ‘68 where she was a member of Alpha Xi Delta. She was a long-time substitute teacher in the Fountain City area schools and retired as an art teacher at Karns Middle School. Phyllis was a faithful, lifelong member at Fountain City Presbyterian Church and the Good News Sunday School class and loved being a part of the Grandma’s Pajamas sewing group.

 Phyllis was a devoted mother and loved her family. She was actively involved in each of her children’s lives throughout her life. Phyllis was a proud grandmother to three exceptional grandsons whom she loved very much. She was a loving mom to many four-pawed children over the years. Phyllis had a sweet, nurturing spirit and loving heart that reached out to countless friends of her children, former students, teaching colleagues, and church friends.

 Phyllis is preceded in death by her parents, Willard and Mildred Norman; her husband, Clark Eugene Brandon. She is survived by her son, Wesley Clark Brandon (Wes); son, John Franklin Brandon (Jay); daughter, Carol Brandon Barrett and husband, Michael Barrett; grandsons, Britton, Bryson, and Brady Barrett; sister, Susan Norman Wallace; nephew, David W. Wallace; niece, Mandy Wallace Atchley; sister-in-law, Diana Brandon; nieces, Kari Wilkerson Ford and Jamie Wilkerson Crawford; her many four-pawed grandchildren and her beloved Yorkie, Abby.

 Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 pm at Fountain City Presbyterian Church, 500 Hotel Road, Knoxville on Sunday, January 26, 2025. A family graveside service will be held at Lynnhurst Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Grandma’s Pajamas at Fountain City Presbyterian Church or your local animal shelter or rescue. Mynatt Funeral Home in Fountain City is in charge of arrangements. Online condolences may be left at www.mynattfh.com.
