Phillip “Phil” Lewis Lovorn, born December 1, 1947 (age 73), journeyed to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 9, 2021. Beloved son, husband, brother, father, grandfather, veteran, and self-made businessman; Phil is preceded in death and now reunited with parents Glen and Dorothy. He is survived by devoted and loving wife of 53 years Carla Sue; siblings Raymond (Carolyn) and Lanell (Dominick); children Michael, Rebecca (Rick) and Sally (Michael); grandchildren Aubrey (Thomas), Kelly, Sydney, Abigail, Jack, Brett and William. Phil moved his family from Texas to East Tennessee in 1976. He loved this region and its people and served our community’s pest control and waterproofing needs for more than 40 years (through his companies Phillips Pest Control, then Safeway Pest Control and Waterproofing). He was also employed by Arrow Exterminating. Phil was a man of great faith and believed in virtuous service to God, family, and country. He reiterated and celebrated the importance of these foundational tenets in the days before his passing. He was a member of Beaver Dam Baptist Church and loved serving as Sunday school teacher for his beloved men’s class. Family will receive friends 5:00-7:00pm at Beaver Dam Baptist Church on Thursday, February 11, 2021, with service to follow, Dr. Alan Price officiating. Family and friends will meet at 12:45pm Friday, February 12, 2021, at Milan Baptist Church Cemetery in Union County for a 1:00pm interment.
