Philip R. Crye, of Knoxville, passed away November 14, 2016, five days before his 80th birthday, at Holston Health and Rehab Center. He was a member of Clapp’s Chapel United Methodist Church. He graduated from Central High School and attended the University of Tennessee, where he was a member of Phi Gamma Delta fraternity and the U.T. Marching Band. He served in the U.S. Air Force and the Tennessee Air National Guard. Phil was a member of Corryton Lodge #321 F. & A.M. and was a 32 degree Scottish Rite Mason. Prior to retirement, he was President of Capper, Inc., a Knoxville based graphic firm. Preceded in death by wife, Jo Ann Neal Crye; parents, Glenn and Pearl Crye; brother, John Crye; and sister-in-law Eva Sue Crye. Survived by son and daughter-in-law Philip R. Crye Jr., and Melanie of Knoxville; brother Duane Crye of Hazel Green, AL.; brother Bob Crye and wife Janis of Knoxville; sister-in-law Shirley Crye of Powell; former wife and best friend, Ann Wiggins; “honorary granddaughter”, Logen Weigand; and several cousins, nieces, and nephews. Family and friends will meet at 10:45am Friday November 18 at Clapp’s Chapel Cemetery for 11am graveside service, Rev. Bill Akers officiating. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Holston United Methodist Home for Children, P.O. Box 188, Greeneville, TN, 37744, or to the charity of your choice. Visitation will be held Thursday November 17 from 6-8pm at Mynatt Funeral Home Fountain City Chapel
