Peggy Sue Taylor, age 77, of New Tazewell, formerly of Knoxville, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 12, 2024 surrounded by her loving family.
Peggy was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend. She was a member of Church of God of Mountain Assembly in New Tazewell.
She is preceded in death by her parents, James and Inez Cochran and by her brother, Jimmy.
Peggy is survived by her husband of 42 years, Earnie Taylor; daughters, Deana Brooks (Corky), Kim Caldwell (Marty), Tina DeLoach (Bobby); son, Mark McLain; grandchildren, Ty DeLoach, Danielle McKendree, Scott Caldwell, Cameran Sawyer, Amanda Gilliam, Andrew Brooks, Hayden Caldwell, Isaiah McLain, Marisa Caldwell and Jasper McLain; 16 great-grandchildren; siblings, Nancy Baker (Bill), Gail Holt (Larry), Jack Cochran (Kim), John Cochran (Judy), and sister-in-law, Vicky Cochran.
The family will receive friends on Monday, April 15, 2024 from 5:00 pm – 7:00, with a 7:00 pm funeral service to be officiated by Reverend John Keefer. Mynatt Funeral Home, Halls Chapel.
On Tuesday, April 16, 2024, family and friends will meet at Mynatt Funeral Home, Halls Chapel at 10:15 am for a procession to Cox View Cemetery where Peggy will be laid to rest at 11:00 am.
The family wishes to extend a special note of thanks to, Chasity, Liza, Whitney, Lorie and Pam with Smoky Mountain Hospice for their kind love and support over the past several months.
