Peggy June Hughes

Peggy J. Hughes, age 88, of Knoxville, passed away on Tuesday, August 28th. She was employed with Kroger for over 20 years until retiring in 1996. She will forever be remembered for being a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She is preceded in death by her Mother and Father: Jim and Pearl Walden; Husband C.W. Hughes and Special son-in-law Billy Joe White. Peggy is survived by Sons: Michael (Kimberly) Hughes, David (Gay) Hughes; Daughters: Cheryl White, Vicki Bird, and Kathi (Robert) Jones; Grandchildren: Kristi Mueller White, Paul White, Megan, Kevin Hughes, Staci (Tommy) Heath, Cory Bird, Matthew, Sean, Ryan, Dale Jones, Lauren (Victor) Dennis, Brent (Heather) Hughes, Kelsey (Alison) Hughes; Great-Grandchildren: Sebastian, Parker, Tanner, Ethan, Alli, Mackenzi, Archer, Ava, Camden, and Lucas; and Sister Martha Ann Wheeler and children Terry, Sandy, Gary, and Susan. The family will receive friends 6:00-8:00pm, Friday, at Mynatt Funeral Home Halls Chapel with a funeral service to follow at 8:00pm, with Rev. Rick Passmore officiating. Family and Friends will meet Saturday at Fairview Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery at 10:15am for interment at 10:30am.
