Peggy Joyce Cooper

Peggy Joyce Cooper, age 80 of Knoxville passed away on Saturday, April 3, 2021. Preceded in death by her parents Thomas and Frances Hopson; husband of 58 years Richard Walter Cooper and sister, Mary Janice Bailey. She is survived by three children: Cathy Cooper Brown (Johnny), Melissa Irwin and Richard A. Cooper "Richie" (Kelly); several grandchildren: Dennis (Emily) Bunch, Elizabeth-Dani (Chris) Decker, Lucas Miller, Chelsie Cooper, Matthew Irwin and Ashley (Adam) Johnson; and great-grandchildren: Miss Lola, Sir Henry Decker, and Adam Johnson Jr. siblings: Barbara DeBord, Marshall (Judy) Hopson, Jerry (Sandra) Hopson, Betty (Mike) Surber and Sue Pyatt; several nieces and nephews and her loving dog Jr. The family will receive friends on Monday, April 12, 2021 from 5-7 PM in the chapel of Mynatt Funeral Home, Halls Chapel with a funeral service following at 7PM with Chaplain Kim Robinson officiating. Family and friends will meet at 12:15 PM on Tuesday, April 13, 2021 at East Tennessee Veterans Cemetery for a 12:30 PM committal service. The family would like to express their thanks to the nurses and staff of Smokey Mountain Hospice. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Smokey Mountain Hospice.
