Peggy Jane Gass

Peggy Jane Gass, age 64 of Knoxville, passed away on Monday, December 31, 2018. She was a member of Portland Street Baptist Church. She was a wonderful mother and loving sister. She was a CNA at NHC Healthcare (Emerald Avenue) for 12 years. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, and her son was her world. Peggy enjoyed reading her Bible and writing down scripture. Preceded in death by parents Leonard James Long Jr. and Easter Long, sister Mary Helen Gass, twin sister Shirley Jean Long, and nephew Gary James Long. Survived by son Billy Gass, grandchildren Destiny and Austin Gass, sisters Jennie Gass “Peanut”, Janice Seymour, and Terry Bettis, as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 pm on Thursday, January 3, 2019 at Mynatt Funeral Home Fountain City Chapel with a service to follow at 8:00 pm. Family and friends will meet at 1:15 pm on Friday, January 4, 2018 at Mynatt Funeral Home Fountain City Chapel for a 2:00 pm interment at Caledonia Cemetery.
