Peggy Evelyn (Watson) Corea, age 72, of Knoxville went to be with Jesus Wednesday, December 15, 2021. Peggy loved the Lord Jesus Christ and her family with all her heart. She was a member of Redemption Church of Knoxville, TN. She worked alongside her husband Gary in the ministry for about 33 years. Everything she put her hand to was done with the spirit of excellence. She enjoyed playing the piano and singing old hymns. Peggy enjoyed life to its fullest and lived every day with a smile on her face. Preceded in death by her parents, Daniel and Malissa Watson; sisters, Lucy Davis, Barbara Coldwell, Wanda Craven, Lisa Altizer; brother, Joe Watson; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Jimmie and Dorothy Corea. She will be greatly missed by her husband of 42 years, Gary Corea; son Gary Corea II and his wife Jess; daughter, Renee Comer and husband Stacey; grandchildren, one grandson in Heaven, Jonathan David Comer and one grandson soon to be born, Asher Lee Comer; step-mother, Ethel Watson; siblings and their spouses, Jim and Shirley Watson, Anne Brewster, Lou and Connie Watson, Bessie Watson, Millie Kaseeska, Bill and Martha Watson, Tony and Nancy Watson; step brother and spouse, Jim and Pat Brown; Brothers-in-law and their spouses, James and Bobbie Corea, Brian and Ronna Corea; nieces, Patsy Moore, Nicole Barker, Malissa Stotridge, Alyson Altizer, Angela Craven, Elisabeth Anguiano, Michelle Devoll, Danielle Stroud, Taria Watson, Angela Corea, Abby Lane, Sarah Corea, Tiffany Lemke, Julia Watson, Melissa Watson; nephews, Joey, Tommie, and Ty Davis, Thomas and Terry Coldwell, Tim and Derek Craven, Jimi, Richard and Phillip Watson, Michael Brewster, Stephen Watson, Craig Watson, Sean and Michael Watson, Greg Corea, Kevin Corea, Ethan Corea. The family will receive friends on Sunday, December 26, 2021 at Mynatt Funeral Home Halls Chapel from 3:00-5:00 pm with the funeral service to follow at 5:00 pm with Reverend Dr. Randy Bradley officiating. Family and friends will meet on Monday, December 27th at 1:00 pm at Mynatt Funeral Home Halls Chapel for a procession to East Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery for a 2:00 pm interment service officiated by Reverend Tony Hurst.
