Peggy Ann Quimby Zbinden, age 88, of Knoxville, TN, formally of Yorkville, IL, passed away on May 8, 2022. She was born February 12, 1934.
Peggy was born and raised in Mackinaw Illinois, a life-long member of the United Methodist Church and attended Church Street United Methodist Church in Knoxville.
Peggy is remembered fondly by her family and many friends as having a very generous and caring spirit, great sense of humor, hearty laugh, and a zest and joy for life. Many who knew her considered her to be the life of the party. She loved to sing, tell stories of her childhood to her family, cook and bake for everyone, and loved to play card games. Peggy had a deep faith and her family meant everything to her. She will be dearly missed, but her legacy of love and joy lives in all whose life she touched.
She is preceded in death by her mother, father and three sisters.
She is survived by children, Daniel Ray Zbinden (Jean), of Yorkville, IL, and Becky Wessels (Dean), of Knoxville, TN; grandchildren, Joseph Wessels (Laura), of Nashville, Jacob Wessels, of Knoxville, Laura Zbinden, of Yorkville, IL, and Ben Zbinden, of Fort Worth, TX; sister, Nancy Catenacci, of Kennan, WI.
Peggy loved her nieces, nephews and their children, and treasured their visits, phone calls and texts. She also loved her many friends at Trinity United Methodist Church in Yorkville, IL.
Private family services were held by her immediate family at Church Street United Methodist Church on May 15, 2022.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made in her honor to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, and Mackinaw Public Library in Mackinaw, IL.
