Pearlie Vannoy Gaddis, 83, went home to be with Jesus on November 25, 2022, in her home surrounded by her loving family. Pearl was born July 23, 1939, in Lone Mountain, Tennessee to Homer and Winifred Vannoy. In 1960, Pearl graduated from the University of Tennessee with a degree in Nursing. She worked at St. Mary’s Hospital for 40 years as a Labor and Delivery Nurse. Pearl married Davis Lee Gaddis on March 26, 1960. The two were each other’s lifelong companions and were blessed with three children: Davis Jr., Robin and Kelly. Pearl was a member of North Knoxville Baptist Church where she served in many capacities: W.M.U, a Sunday school teacher, singing in the choir, and first place with her close and loving ladies. Pearl is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Davis Gaddis, children Davis Gaddis Jr. (Kim), Robin Gaddis (BJ), Kelly Sorrell (Bill); twenty grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and many, many friends. Pearl will be missed by She-Lady, her beloved four-legged fur baby, who laid by her side until her very last day. She was preceded in death by father and mother, Homer and Winifred Vannoy; sister Iris Ruth Mitchel; brothers Joe and Ed Vannoy. A visitation will be held at North Knoxville Baptist Church, 217 W. Oldham Avenue, on Tuesday, November 29, 2022, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Services will follow with Pastor Charles Fritts and Pastor Michael Adams officiating. Friends and family will meet at Greenwood Cemetery on Wednesday, November 30, 2022, at 10:45 AM for an 11:00 AM graveside service.
