Pauline Lee

On Friday, May 11th in the home of Pauline Lee a reward was gained for a lifetime of faithfulness to the Lord. As Polly found her rest in her heavenly father’s arms, the family reflects on her lifetime of achievements and Kingdom service for the Lord. Pauline Mae Bower was born February 13,1926, in Williamstown, Kentucky to WC and Mada Bower . On October 19, 1946, Polly married John Alexander Lee. John and Polly had two children Yvonne and John. Polly ran the family 5 & Dime store for 10 years in Oneida, Tennessee. In 1967, Polly and John moved to Florence, Kentucky. In 1976 Polly moved to be close to her family in Knoxville, Tennessee. Polly served as the Principal in the New Beverly Baptist School for four years. Up until her heavenly arrival Friday morning, she served her New Beverly Baptist Church as Sunday school teacher and Lead Prayer Warrior. Polly was preceded in death by her mother Mada Ammerman Bower, father WC Bower, husband of 27 years John Lee, a brother Bill Bower and son in law Harold Smith. Polly’s surviving family is sister Irene Henson of Knoxville, Tennessee; daughter Yvonne Smith of Knoxville, Tennessee; son John Lee of Nashville, Tennessee; grandsons Keith Smith(Sherry Smith), John Smith; granddaughter Velvett Sutton(Tim Sutton); great grandchildren Zak Sutton(Olivia Sutton), Ike Smith(Kelsey Smith), Bethani Smith Valentine (Kirby Valentine), Faith Smith Andrews(Tanner Andrews), Dakota Smith, Savonnah Sutton(Dalton Hurst), Anndrena Smith Carr (Richard Carr), Justin Holbrooks(Kayla Renner), Lillie Smith, Clay Smith; great great grandchildren Harrison T. Sutton, Rylee Jean Valentine and Elijah Carr. The family will receive friends at New Beverly Baptist Church on Wednesday, May 16th from 5-7pm with a service to follow. Interment will be at Highland Cemetery( Cemetery Road, Williamsburg, Kentucky 40769) on Thursday May 17th at 2pm. Polly’s life purpose was to further the kingdom of God. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be forwarded to the New Beverly Baptist Church Baptisary Fund. Mom, Granny, GG will be greatly missed. But, her family will choose to celebrate her life by carrying on her legacy in Kingdom Building. The teacher can now be the student as she sets at the master’s feet.
