Pauline Pettiford, age 77, of Heiskell, passed away March 5, 2013. She was a member of The Church of England. She was a talented seamstress who worked for Normac and The Knox until she started her own alteration business. She was a loving and giving woman who came to The States to marry but later on became a US citizen, of which she was very proud. She was preceded in death by her parents Albert and Ivy Freeman and sister Rita Freeman. Survivors include husband of 57 years Beecher “Beech” Pettiford, son and daughter-in-law Glenn and Janie Pettiford, daughter and son-in-law Debra and Randy Hiles, grandchildren Christy, Nigel, Michael, Tanner, Cassie, and Casey, great-grandchildren Tyler, Dustin, Brandie, and Hailey, sisters Phyllis Smith, Evelyn Freeman-Tooke, as well as many cousins, nieces, and nephews. She will be greatly missed. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Claxton or Heiskell Volunteer Fire Departments. Funeral services will be 2 PM Saturday at Mynatt Funeral Home Fountain City Chapel. Interment will follow at Oak Ridge Memorial park. The family will receive friends 6-8 PM Friday at Mynatt Funeral Home Fountain City.
