Paula M. Hampton

Paula M. Hampton, 82, of Maryville/Alcoa, passed away Saturday (March 11, 2023) at U.T, Medical
Center after a brief Illness.
For many years Paula worked as a telephone operator at BellSouth/AT&T retiring in the late 1990’s to
spend time with her family and pursue her other interests. Paula enjoyed spending time at the lake
swimming, fishing and camping with her children and grandchildren. She was a devoted mother,
grandmother and great grandmother and loved her family with a passion. Paula was an accomplished
writer having written several short stories with some being published in various magazines. She was a
very sociable person and her family and friends were blessed when she would share her stories with
them.
Surviving are two daughters, Letta Herbstritt and Rhonda Hampton; one son, David Hampton; three
brothers, Gordon Swanger, Darrell Swanger, Lee Albert Swanger; several grand children and one great-
grandchild along with many nieces and nephews
In addition to her parents; Paula is preceded in death by two sons; Tommy Gibbons and Jerry Gibbons;
three brothers and one sister.
Family and friends will meet at Clark's Grove Cemetery in Maryville, TN, on Tuesday, March 28, 2023, for a 1:00pm memorial service. Condolences may be left at www.mynattfh.com.
