Paul W. Hamrick age 85 of Knoxville was born March 1, 1932 and passed away May 20, 2017 at home with his family by his side. He was a member of Tennessee Ave Baptist Church and was saved at an early age. He strongly believed in prayer, praying to his lord and savior, and he had a strong faith. He retired from Knox County Schools where he worked in Special Education as a Teacher’s Assistant. He loved working with children with special needs. His hobbies were carving, building bird houses, ceramics, working in his yard, and in his younger days he loved bowling. He was preceded in death by his parents Clyde and Elizabeth Hamrick, sister Lucy Mae McClain, and brother Oscar Hamrick. He is survived by his loving wife Carolyn (Hale) of 65 years, devoted niece Lisa McMillan & husband David, devoted nephew Lance Davis & wife Susan, and a host of nieces, great nieces, nephews, and great nephews, devoted sister in law Joyce (Hale) Davis, and nephew Larry Davis. Devoted friends James & Billy French, Perry Franklin, and Troy Phillips, Jill & Glen Miller, Billie, brother in Christ longtime friend Raymond Long & wife Patsy. Paul had many friends and was a friend to many. He loved to see small children playing and loved his pet dogs. He was a member of the Masons Lodge #244 Fountain City. Family will receive friends Tuesday May 23 from 5-7 p.m. with the service to follow at 7p.m. in the chapel at Mynatts Funeral Home with Rev. Raymond Long Officiating.
