Paul Eugene Weaver, Sr., 94 of Knoxville, went to be with the Lord on February 16, 2017 surrounded by his loving family and friends. He served his country proudly in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He also worked for William S. Trimble Overhead Door Company for over 25 years. He loved camping, fishing, hunting, trips to Cherokee, NC, and playing practical jokes on everyone. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 69 years, Mildred Weaver; parents, Verlin and Beatrice Weaver; son, Gene Weaver; daughters, Betty Esmond and Brenda Irwin; daughter-in-law, Michelle Weaver; grandsons, Barney, Bobby and Joe Irwin; sisters, Cleo Holly, Eva Bertha Weaver and Marie Nicholas; and great-grandson, Tyler Irwin. Survived by his daughter, Vickie Wright; sons-in-law, Richard Wright, Tom Esmond and Barney Irwin; grandchildren, Susan and Tony Ownby, Lee and Tammi Wolfenbarger, Christina Wright, Jonathan and Tiffanie Wright, and Dustin Weaver; 7 great-grandchildren; brother, Chalmer Weaver; sisters, Zella Perry, Faye Reynolds and Gail Shultz; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Paul was deeply loved and will be sorely missed by all whom knew him. The family would like to express their thanks and deepest gratitude to the staff of L & L in Knoxville. The family will receive friends on Saturday, February 18th, 2017 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm, with funeral service to follow at 7:00 pm at Mynatt Funeral Home, Fountain City Chapel. Reverend Richard Spencer will be officiating. Family and friends will meet Sunday at 1:45 pm for a 2:00 pm interment at Union Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
