Patrick "Pepper" Pike age 73 of Fountain City passed away suddenly Thursday, October 21, 2021 at his home. Pepper was the owner/operator of the Tennessee Sporting Goods Store in Fountain City. Pepper loved his family fiercely and became a true and loyal family member of several of his friends; celebrating the joys, birthdays, holidays, and the tragedies of life with each one throughout the years. Although never having children of his own, he was a father figure to his close friend's children and to thousands of others throughout the years. There will be a terrible void, an empty space at the table, and a gentle spirit missing as these friends and families go on with life without out Pep. He enjoyed the time he spent at his beloved Tennessee Sporting Goods and was especially appreciative of longtime associate Jerrad Kidd. He will be missed by the many who got to know him at his beloved Tennessee Sporting Goods, his high school friends, card-playing and golf buddies, and all of Fountain City. Pepper's family had grown smaller over the years with the loss of his dad Buddy, who opened Tennessee Sporting Goods in 1951, his brother Joel, who worked along side him and his mom, Ruth. He is survived by his sister-in-law; Pat (Joel's wife), and his nieces , Emily and Erin, and his great niece Penelope. The special girls in his life that he loved with all his heart and didn't mind at all flashing picture of his great niece. There will be a call at your convenience from 9:00 am til 6:00 pm Tuesday, October 26, 2021 at Mynatt Funeral Home Fountain City. Family and friends will meet 2:45 pm Wednesday, October 27, 2021 at Lynnhurst Cemetery for a 3:00 pm graveside service Dr. Chris Stanfield officiating. Condolences may be left at www.mynattfh.com
