Patricia Ann Wright, of Corryton, age 78, passed away after a brief illness December 24, 2024, holding hands with Dave. Born September 1, 1945, in Lone Mountain, Tennessee. The daughter of Evelyn Louise Davis and Sterling Jackson Harmon, she attended elementary school in Tazewell and Middlesboro. As she and her mother moved to Knoxville, Pat attended Christenberry Junior High School. A 1963 graduate of Gibbs High School, she completed Joseph’s School of Beauty in 1964 and operated several beauty shops in Luttrell and Corryton. Pat took great pride in the service and social presence her shop provided the Gibbs Community. The childhood experiences of being in a large family group with limited resources gave Pat the drive to be an inspiration and example of perseverance knowing hard work leads to the fulfillment of dreams. Pat was a supportive military spouse during the Vietnam War era, spending two years in Germany. She assisted in the Junior Pro Basketball program while Bill was in elementary school and volunteered with the Knoxville Literacy Council as a tutor. She was the Worthy Matron, Corryton Chapter 337, Order of the Eastern Star, 1985. Pat participated in many antique shows in Tennessee, Kentucky and Virginia developing a great sense of antique furniture value. Pat was a lifelong member of Clapps Chapel Methodist Church. As Pat travelled the world with Dave she stood on The Great Wall, climbed the Pyramids, viewed the Sistine Chapel, walked on the Champs-Elysees, trekked in Kathmandu, and would frequently comment the place to revisit was the Taj Mahal. Pat is survived by husband of 59 years, Dave Wright, son William “Little Bill” Wright (Nicole) and granddaughter Ansley, brother Bob Connors (Judith), stepsister Gwen Bucker, brother in law Richard Wright (Jane), and Charles Wright (Christina), several nieces and nephews. If you ever met Pat within a few minutes you would know how she cherished her family and friends. She will forever be remembered by her family and friends.
