Pat left us on March 25, 2023, following a long battle with cancer. She was born to her parents Ora and Delmar Carr in LaFollette, TN, where she graduated high school and went on to attend LMU. She then went to work in the medical field in Knoxville, TN for 30 years. She was privileged to have been born into a loving Christian family, who always kept in touch and got together often to share their love for one another. Pat belonged to Christ United Methodist Church in Halls and loved her church family, especially her Sunday school class. Preceded in death by parents Ora and Delmar Carr and brother David Alexander Carr. She is survived by her “God send”, best friend, and loving husband, David Linkous, brother Phillip Carr, sister-in-law and best friend Diane Carr, step-daughter Peggy Linkous Russell (Jack), stepson Clay Linkous (Katie), 8 step-grandchildren, 2 special nephews Matt (Shannon) and Andy (Meghan) Carr, 7 great-nieces and nephews, and special long-time friend Pauline Vincent. Family and friends will gather at 5:00pm Saturday, April 1, 2023, at Mynatt Funeral Home Halls Chapel to celebrate Pat’s life. Rev. Mark Kilbourne and Rev. Scobie Branson will officiate and Matt Carr will deliver the eulogy. Family and friends will meet at 9:45am Tuesday, April 4, 2023, at East Tennessee Veterans Cemetery for a 10:00am interment. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Pat’s memory to Christ United Methodist Church Building Fund (7535 Maynardville Pike Knoxville, TN 37938) or to Fincastle Church Cemetery Fund (629 Old Middlesboro Highway Fincastle, TN 37766).
