Pamela Sue Whitson

Pamela Sue Whitson, age 71, of Knoxville passed away June 14, 2021. She was a loving wife, mother and her most favorite thing in life was being a granny and spoiling her three grandkids rotten. She was employed at Oak Ridge Associated Universities for 35 years. She has a master’s degree from The University of Tennessee and was a certified cancer registrar and she loved working. She is preceded in death by her son Robert Cory Whitson and her parents Thomas and Wanda McCarty. She is survived by her spouse of 49 years Robert Lynn Whitson, daughter Lindsay Collins (Scott), Sister Robin Elkins (Mitch), brother-in-law Bud (Reba) Whitson. Her grandkids are Jacob, Addison and Caden Collins and they were her greatest treasures and best friends and they loved going to Granny’s house. Nieces Amy and Morgan Elkins, and Kelly (Pat) Brennan, Great Nieces and Nephews Mason, Isaiah and Isabella, and Bethany and Jade. She was a member of Sharon Baptist Church and in lieu of flowers, you can make a donation to the Sharon Baptist Building Fund at 7916 Pedigo Road, Knoxville, TN 37938. Friends and family will meet at Sharon Baptist Church Cemetery on Saturday, June 19, 2021, at 9:45am for a 10:00am graveside service, with Dr. James Robertson and Rev. Mark McCoig officiating.
