Opal Irene (Lewis) Williams, age 85 of Powell, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 8, 2014. Founding member of Sunnyview Baptist Church where she lead singing for many years and taught Sunday School classes. Opal and Buddy sang with the Sunnyview Baptist Church Quartet (Robert and Edith Perry) for many years and later in a trio with Iva McGinnis. Preceded in death by parents, Matthew and Pearl Lewis; mother-in-law, Mabel Williams; father-in-law, Raymond Williams; sisters, Rema Wright, Mamie Edington, Anna Cox, Maxie York, Dot Edington; brothers, Lee Lewis, Tobe Lewis. Survived by husband of 66 years, Buddy L. Williams; daughters and husbands, Sue and Jeffrey Jones, Gail and Carl Norman, Dixie and Gabe Price; son and wife, Barry and Teri Williams; grandchildren, Phillip and Tammy Raby, Corey and Amanda Norman, Josh and Ashlea Norman, Caine Cagle and Sherry Trosper, Jordan and Tamara Cagle, Tosha Williams, Tyler Williams and Linsdsey Lewis, Brady Williams, Tim and Matt Price; great grandchildren, Adam and Allison Raby, Cody Raby, Cameron and Chase Norman, Presley Privo, Caden and Blaine Williams; great-great granddaughter, Anberlyn Raby; brother and sister-in-law, Stiner and Sue Lewis, niece and life long friend, Hazel Grubb; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank Smoky Mountain Hospice and caregivers, Mabel Teague and Trudy Chinn. The family will receive friends 6:00 – 8:00 pm Friday at Mynatt Funeral Home Halls Chapel with service to follow at 8:00 pm. Rev. Joe Norris officiating.
