Neoma Georgia Jones

Neoma Georgia Jones, age 91, of Knoxville, passed away quietly on Monday, January 30th, 2017. She was born on April 6th, 1925 to the late Ellis and Flora Shuemaker. She was a long-time member of West Side Baptist Church, Member of Class # 15, The Mother’s Class, and held the position of Class # 15 secretary for many years. She enjoyed being in the church choir, where she sang many “special” solos. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who loved and cherished her family very much. With her passing, Ted and Sherry have lost their best friend in this life. She is preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, George Jones; siblings, Otis and Jack Shuemaker, Kathleen Romines and Imogene Smith. She is survived by children, Ted (Debbie) Jones and Sherry (Doug) Greene; grandchildren, Ray (Tracy) Jones, Deana Varner, Shaun (Jamie) Greene, and Josh (Brittany) Greene; seven great-grandchildren and one on the way, many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 2nd, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Mynatt Funeral Home, Fountain City Chapel. Funeral Service will be held on Friday, February 3rd 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at Mynatt Funeral Home, Fountain City Chapel, with Rev. Dean Braden officiating.
