Nellie Faye Garrett

Nellie Faye Simmons Garrett, age 90, of Calhoun, GA formerly of Corryton went to be with the Lord on October 20, 2013. She was a lifetime member of Fairview Baptist Church where she was a member of the choir and children’s Sunday school teacher. She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years Arthur L. Garrett, parents John & Lillie Bell Simmons and parents-in-law Mr. & Mrs. Arthur D. Garrett, sisters Minnie Beeler, Grace Hankins, Eula Turner Cox, Laila Goforth, Maude Zachary, Ruth Skeen, brother Gilbert Simmons and son-in-law Bob Harvey. Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law Judith & David Goins and Vickie & Steve Warren, daughters Pat Harvey, Kim Ellis, 5 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and 1 great great granddaughter, sister Bess Lay and brothers-in-law Stuart and Hurdle Garrett, several nieces and nephews and a special friend Charlotte Green. Funeral service will be 8 pm Wednesday at Mynatt Funeral Home Halls Chapel with Rev. Bryan Wright and Rev. Tim Grizzel officiating. Friends and family will meet at 10:45 am Thursday at Fairview Baptist Church Cemetery for interment at 11 am with Rev. David Lay officiating. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Wednesday at Mynatt Funeral Home Halls Chapel.
