Ned Edward Jones, Jr.

Ned Edward Jones Jr. age 70 of Halls, went to be with the Lord on Friday, March 28, 2025. He attended Georgia State University and retired from Standard Coffee Company, where he worked as regional manager. Ned was also a member of Union Baptist Church in Halls, serving as a Deacon. He was a Dockmaster at Black Oak Marina and Cedar Hill Marina, known for being a boating enthusiast. He loved spending time with his family, cooking, hunting, fishing, traveling, and serving others.

Preceded in death by his loving wife of 37 years, Reva Brown Jones; parents, Ned Edward Jones Sr. and Geraldine Jones, sister, Debbie McCalvin; and son, Stephen Edward Brown.

Ned is survived by his daughter, Sandy (Allen) Surgenor; daughter-in-law, Vicki Brown and her sister Christine Chasteen; sister-in-law, Betty Brown; siblings, Gerry (Jerry) Melson, Terry (Cindy) Jones; brothers and sisters in Christ, Harvey (Tammy) Wright, Bob (Mary Jane) Slagle, and Kenny (Kathy) Weaver; grandchildren, Ashley Brown (Tim) Smith. Shane (Chelsea) Brown, Courtney Brown, Todd Surgenor, and Josh (Makenzie) Surgenor; great grandchildren, Zeke Lindsey, Malia DeDionisio, Izayah Brown, Trae Surgenor, Braxton Surgenor, Kyleigh Surgenor, and Charlie Surgenor; as well as several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Monday, March 31, 2025, from 5:00-7:00PM at Union Baptist Church of Halls with a service to follow, Rev. Gary Vandergriff officiating. (8244 Old Maynardville Hwy, Knoxville, TN 37838) Family and friends will meet at 12:45PM on Tuesday, April 1, 2025, Woodlawn Cemetery (W. Walden St & West Avenue, LaFollette, TN 37766) for a 1:00PM interment. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Union Baptist Church of Halls Building Fund.
