Nathan W. Farrington, age 39, of Halls, passed away suddenly August 28, 2015. He was born August 21, 1976. Nathan loved baseball and golf. He began playing baseball at the age of five and continued through high school. He was a graduate of Halls High School and The University of the Cumberlands. With Nathan’s interest in baseball, he began a career of umpiring with his father that continued until his departure. Nathan gave his heart to Our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ at a young age and was baptized at Valley Grove Baptist Church. Nathan was a loving and caring person whose family meant everything to him. He is preceded in death by grandmother Yvonne McPhetridge. Survivors include loving parents Patti (Jimmy T.) Smith and Mike (Jan) Farrington, brothers Grant (Sara) Farrington, Andy (Melissa) Marsee, and Cory (Shannon) Marsee, grandparents Bernice and Howard Farrington and Jerry and Brenda McPhetridge, aunts Sheryl Rader, Laura Captain, Terri Bailey, and Misti McPhetridge, uncle Scott McPhetridge, as well as a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will all miss him. Eddie Turpin, Jay Davis, Justin Pratt, William Thompson, David Owens, Mike Slaughter, Bryan Self, and Rick Farmer from the Knoxville Officials Association will be serving as honorary pallbearers. The family will receive friends 6-8 PM Monday at Mynatt Funeral Home Halls Chapel. Funeral service will follow at 8 PM with Rev. Burney Hutchison and Rev. Brian Gray officiating. Family and friends will meet 10:15 AM Tuesday at Mynatt Funeral Home Halls Chapel to proceed to Mount Pleasant Cemetery for interment at 11 AM.
