Mollie Louise Arnold, age 84, of Halls Crossroads, TN entered eternal glory with her Lord Jesus Christ at her home with her loved ones by her side. Mollie was a faithful Christian person, devoted wife, mother, memaw, and great memaw. For nearly 3 decades, she was a trust worthy employee and friend to Harold Boruff at Boruff Real Estate and Insurance, until she retired in the 1990’s. She served many people in the Halls Crossroads community as an insurance provider, business leader, and civic minded citizen. She also was instrumental in the dramatic growth of the community in the 1970’s as an officer and member of the Halls Business and Professional Organization. When people talk about Halls Has It…..Mollie was one of the “ITs”. Mollie was a devoted member at Salem Baptist Church since the early 1970’s and served in many leadership roles and taught the youth for many years. Mrs. Mollie as the kids called her touched many lives as a Christian witness, teacher, and mentor. She was an available and kind neighbor to many and helped grieving mothers for many years in the Compassionate Friends organization as well as comforted those entering Halls Hospice.
Mollie was preceded in death by her parents, Ersie and Oney Campbell of Knoxville; children, Beverly Louise Arnold and Ronald Lee Arnold; grandchild, Michael Lee Arnold. Also, Mollie was the baby in a family with 8 total siblings, of which, all have preceded her in death.
Mollie is survived by her husband of 63 years, Berle L. Arnold; sons and daughters-in-law, Johnny M. and Sandra K. Arnold, Knoxville, R. Eric and Valarie L. Arnold, Knoxville; grandchildren and granddaughters-in-law, Troy C. and Madeleine R. Arnold, Baltimore, MD, David L. and Rebecca Zentis Arnold, Pokomoke, MD, Austin M. Arnold, Connor L. Arnold, Knoxville, TN, Greg Farley, Sevierville, TN; 5 total great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews by birth and through marriage.
The family would like to thank the following special care givers in Mom’s final days, Melba and Shirley private care givers, and Julia from Visiting Angels. Mollie had a close-knit group of girlfriends from Salem Baptist and the Halls Community that she loved each and every one dearly. In lieu of flowers, Mollie would have appreciated a charitable contribution in her memory to the Gideons, The Women’s Baptist Center of Knoxville, or Salem Baptist Church General Fund.
The family will receive friends 1 – 4:00 pm Sunday at Salem Baptist Church with funeral service to follow, Rev. John Holland, Rev. Phil Young, and Rev. Allen James officiating. Family and friends will meet 10:45 am Monday at Salem Baptist Church Cemetery for 11:00 am interment.
