Mitchell Lawrence "Mike" Parsley

Mitchell “Mike” Parsley, age 87, born July 18, 1930 in Mt. Sterling, NC, was called home to be with Jesus on January 17, 2018. He was a member of Mt. Harmony Baptist Church. Mike was a kind and gentle man who was always willing to help others. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who was proud of his family. Preceded in death by parents Thomas J. and Eva Sutton Parsley; sister Hazel Parsley White; brothers Charles, Luther and Boyd Parsley. Survived by loving wife of 66 years LaVerne Warren Parsley; daughter and husband Becky and Jake Trexel; son and wife Michael and Sherry Parsley; brother and wife Thomas and Anita Parsley; grandson Nathan Parsley; granddaughter Mikaela Parsley; best friends and neighbors Elbert and Margie Hunley. Family and friends will meet 2:45PM Sunday at Clapps Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery for 3PM interment. Family will receive friends 5-7PM Saturday at Mynatt Funeral Home Halls Chapel with funeral service to follow at 7PM, Rev. Michael Parsley and Rev. Elbert Hunley officiating.
