Minerva “Candy” Caudill Byrd, born April 5, 1924 and passed away January 21, 2016 after a short illness. She was a member of Greenway Baptist Church. Preceded in death by Daughter, Cathy Byrd and stillborn son. Parents, Harrison & Matilda Caudill. Father & mother-in-law, Elbert & Effie Byrd. Brothers & sisters-in-law: Issac (Loretta) Caudill, Elza (Lelah) Caudill, Wayne Caudill, Joseph (Phyllis) Caudill and Elijah Caudill. Sisters & brothers-in-law: Marie (Charles) Wells, Kathleen Sturgill, Doris (Edgar) Hall, Wanda (Ernest) Mullins and Emilee (Clyde) Tyree. Survived by loving husband of 70 years, Jason Byrd. Brother, Steve (Judy) Caudill. Children, Roger (Harriet) Byrd, Debbie (Mike) Huiting and Tim (Susan) Byrd. Grandchildren: Misty (boyfriend Scott) Huiting, Brooke (Michael) McDonald, Kelly (Mark) Johnson, Kristi (Ben) Pendley, Tommy (Gina) Smith, David (Mitzi) Smith, Tiffany (Jamie) Halcomb and Heather Byrd. Great-grandchildren: C.J., Cade, Caleb and Casen Johnson, Halee McDonald, Grayton Pendley, Jaxon LaRue, Baby Pendley, Sydney and Lindsey Smith, Aaron Williams and Chelsea (Stewart) Cornett. Great-great grandchildren: Carleigh Smith-Cornett and Tyler Williams and a host of special nieces, nephews and friends. The family would like to thank Tennova ICU and 3rd floor personnel for their love and care. Funeral service 7pm Monday, Mynatt Funeral Home Fountain City, Rev. Wayne Roach officiating. Family and friends will meet at Woodlawn Cemetery at 1:45pm Tuesday for interment at 2pm. Pallbearers: Mark, C.J., and Cade Johnson, Ben Pendley, Michael McDonald and Jamie Halcomb. Honorary pallbearers: Scott and Jaxon LaRue, Jarrison Martin, Caleb and Casen Johnson, Halee McDonald and Grayton Pendley. The family will receive friends 6-7pm Monday at Mynatt Funeral Home, Fountain City.
