Miller Bruce Sullivan

March 19, 1999 — January 15, 2025

Miller Bruce Sullivan, age 25, was suddenly and peacefully called home Wednesday, January 15, 2025 in Brentwood, TN. He was born March 19, 1999 in Knoxville, TN.

Miller was welcomed into heaven by his grandparents, Linda “Kathy” Miller and James “Benji” Sullivan, Scout, and many other loved ones. He will be forever loved and deeply missed by his parents, Jolyon (JD) and Linda Sullivan (Knoxville) and his sister, Grace Sullivan (Knoxville) and her fiancé, Owen Feld. His grandparents, Dr. Anne McCrary Sullivan (Gainesville, FL), Carl “Pete” Miller and Sharron Lane (Blountville, TN), his uncle, Matthew Miller, Melissa Brennan (Brentwood, TN), and a multitude of beloved people are left to mourn him.

Miller was a 2017 graduate of The Webb School of Knoxville. He continued his education, graduating Summa Cum Laude in 2020 from the University of Tennessee with a degree in Political Science and Religious Studies. Miller dreamed of practicing law and in May of 2024, he received his Juris Doctorate from Washington and Lee Law School. In October, he celebrated passing the Tennessee Bar Exam and joined the Cole Law Group in Brentwood, TN.

Miller seized so many opportunities and enjoyed lots of sporting events in his 25 years! He studied abroad in Italy; and cemented his love for the New York Mets when his Uncle Matthew took him to the 2015 World Series. He traveled to Houston with his dad to watch the Astros play in the 2017 and 2020 World Series, hosted his own radio show at W&L. He visited Miami for the F1 Grand Prix, cheered on the New York Rangers in Madison Square Garden, woke up early on Sundays to watch every F1 race and his favorite soccer team, Chelsea, play. Experienced the Fire Festival in Valencia, Spain, attended Predators home games this season, and smoked a cigar to celebrate the 2024 Volunteers victory over Alabama in Neyland Stadium. When you see any of these teams play, the family hopes you will remember Miller with fondness and cheer a little louder for each of his teams. And if you knew Miller, you knew he “relaxed” by building architectural Lego sets.

Miller’s faith was his foundation, he leaned into it, challenged it, questioned it, and confirmed it. We are eternally grateful to his Fountain City Presbyterian family and the amazing friends at UKirk College Ministry where his faith was affirmed while attending UTK. Miller was a passionate young man and advocated for causes he believed were important. In lieu of flowers, Miller would want us to make a positive impact on his behalf. Please consider donating in his name to UT UKirk Campus Ministry https://www.ukirkutk.org or The National Epilepsy Foundation https://epilepsy.com.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm Saturday, January 25, 2025, at Fountain City Presbyterian Church, followed by a memorial service at 3 pm. The Rev. Dr. Carl Grosse will be officiating. Please join the family in the Fellowship Hall for food and drinks after the service. Miller’s friendships and impacts truly crossed the globe: a livestream of his memorial service may be viewed by online at www.facebook.com/fcpresbyterian.
