Michael Lynn Junior Wise

Michael Lynn Junior Wise, age 41, of Knoxville, passed away peacefully in his sleep May 20, 2020. Born September 4, 1978, Mike grew up in South Knoxville, where he made many lifelong friends that he counted as his brothers. He loved sports, playing football, baseball, and basketball in school, and he was an avid UT Vol fan. He lived and breathed Rocky Top, and nothing made him happier than football time in Tennessee. Mike found his calling as the owner of Volunteer Bail Bonds, where he was tough enough to keep his clients in line, but caring and understanding enough that anyone could feel comfortable working with him. He had a giant heart that never judged others, believed heartily in second (and third and fourth) chances, and wanted to help people be their best selves. His loved ones will miss his fiercely loyal, protective, and loving presence. He was preceded in death by his father, Michael Lundy, grandparents, Jim Wise, Ruth Humphrey, and Thelma & Ted Lundy, and step-father, Fred Davis. Mike is survived by fiancée, Cathy Yelvington, sons, Dalton Wise, Peyton Yelvington, Blake Davis, and Austin VanLieu, grandchildren, Bryson, Wyatt, Brantley, and Nevaeh, mother, Maxine Davis Kitts, brothers, Casey Reed and Timmy Lundy, sisters, Stephanie Reed and Candi Welch, former wife, Teresa Wise, and many nieces, nephews, step-siblings, extended family, and beloved friends. George Sennett, Michael Green, Roger Vandergriff, Waldo Dunaway, Tip Boring, Timmy Lundy, and Russell McNeil will be serving as pallbearers. Family and friends may visit 10am-7pm, Tuesday, May 26, 2020 at Mynatt Funeral Home Fountain City Chapel. Funeral services will be held 7 pm with David Cash and Carl Brown officiating. Family and friends will meet 1 pm, Wednesday, May 27, 2020 at Mount Olive Cemetery, Maryville Pike for interment.
