Michael K. Messer age 78 of Knoxville loving husband, father, brother, papaw, and friend entered the gates of Glory on April 29, 2017. He was a member of St. Andrews United Methodist Church. Survived by his wife Barbara K. Gregory-Messer; children Michael Scott Messer and Shari Lynn Messer (Randy Miller); sister Jerrye Green and husband Al; stepchildren, Kurt Gregory (Connie Hatfield) and Jessica Gregory; grandchildren Annie, Alex, Emma, Colby, and Raylan; special friends Kelly Miller, Lisa Smith, Sid Miller, Johnny Winstead and Terri Coning. The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to Smoky Mountain Health Care and Oakwood staff for their tender loving care of Mike. Family and friends will meet 8:45am Thursday at Greenwood Cemetery for 9:00am graveside service, Rev. Jim Duncan officiating.
