Michael Gilliam Story

Michael G. Story, age 70, of Knoxville, passed away peacefully on September 18, 2016. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Naomi Story, and an infant brother. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Katie and Jonathan Beeler; granddaughter, Reece Beeler; brother and sister-in-law, Jay and Lillian Story; sister and brother-in-law, Ann and Al Williams; ex-wife, Judy Story; and many close friends. Prior to retirement, he was employed by D.O. Creasman Company as a directional boring specialist in Asheville, North Carolina. He was a member of Fairview Baptist Church in Corryton. He volunteered for the food pantry and also for the Knox County Sheriffs Department checking on the elderly. The family will receive friends from 5pm-7pm on Thursday, September 22nd, with service to follow at 7pm, in the chapel of Mynatt Funeral Home, Fountain City Chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
