Michael Eugene Couch

Sergeant 1st Class U.S. Army, Michael Eugene Couch I, age 53 of Knoxville, passed away Sunday, January 9, 2022 after a courageous battle with an extended illness. He was saved and a member of Sevier Heights Baptist Church. He was a U.S. Army Veteran and currently employed as Sergeant 1st class with the U.S. Army National Guard Reserve 278th Armored Cavalry Regiment on Sutherland Avenue. He loved the outdoors and weekend drills with his military family and loved his country. He was proud to serve his military family and above all, honor and serve his family. He was preceded in death by parents; Billie and Doris Couch, sister; Claudia Couch. He is survived by his loving children; Michael (Danielle) Andrew Caylor, Michael (Cherie) Eugene Couch II, Matthew (Amanda) Couch, Lacy (Erick) Salas, Grandchild; Corbin Caylor, loving sister; Mary Ellen (Mark) Bach, loving nephew; Garth Scarbrough, Garon Bach, niece Lilly Bach and great niece Oakley Jone, loving mother to his wonderful children of 28 years, Debra Katheryn Couch, loving lifelong friend and partner; Joann Sifford, many friends, and family as well as military family. The family will receive friends 5:00-7:00pm Wednesday, January 19, 2022, at Mynatt Funeral Home, Fountain City Chapel, followed by a 7:00pm Celebration of Life. Family and friends will meet 9:00am Thursday, January 20, 2022, at Mynatt Funeral Home, Fountain City Chapel to leave in procession for a 10:00am committal service at East TN Veteran Cemetery. The family would like to extend a Special thank you to all the doctors and nurses at Tennova North Medical Center 4th floor. Thank you for helping him “Fight the Good Fight.”
