Melvin Lee Finley

Melvin Finley, age 57, went to be with his Heavenly Father February 6, 2016. He was a member of Spring Street Baptist Church. He loved working with his flowers and had a love of food. Melvin was known for his sense of humor. No matter how sick he was he kept a positive outlook and made everyone laugh. His motto in life was “It gets better and better everyday.” He had many friends that he enjoyed spending time with and will be sadly missed by all.He was preceded in death by mother Helen Collins. Survivors include sisters Rhonda Robbins, Sherry Lamb, and Diane Haynes, brothers Jimmy and Darrell Finley, special friend Randy Underwood, and sons Dustin and Chad Finley, as well as a host of other relatives and friends. The family will receive friends 5-7 pm Wednesday at Mynatt Funeral Home Halls Chapel with funeral service to follow at 7 pm. Friends and family will meet 1:45 pm Thursday at Ft. Sumter Community Cemetery for interment at 2 pm.
