Mattie Lou “Bootie” Helton, age 78 of Knoxville, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away at home on June 6, 2013. She was a member of Inskip United Methodist Church. Preceded in death by parents, Celia Pearl and Preston Greenlee; siblings, Sam Greenlee, Polly Claiborne, Jannalea McGoldrick, Bea Ratcliff, and Rama Hayes. Survived by husband, Dean Helton of Knoxville; daughter, Karen Patton and husband Charles of Greenville, SC, and son, Chris Helton and wife Cindy of Maynardville; grandchildren, Dr. Cory Patton of Florence, SC; Nicholas Patton of Boulder, CO, and Kymbr McMurray of Knoxville; great-grandchildren, Fox and Zade McMurray of Knoxville. Funeral service 10:00 am Tuesday at Mynatt Funeral Home Halls Chapel, with Rev. John Holland officiating. Family and friends will proceed to Lynnhurst Cemetery for interment following service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to The Pat Summit Foundation, East Tennessee Foundation, 625 Market Street, Suite 1400, Knoxville, TN 37902.
