Matthew "Matt" Ryan Geames

Matthew "Matt" Ryan Geames age 37 of Fountain City, passed away suddenly Monday, January 22, 2024 at Tennova North Medical Center. He was of the Baptist faith.  Graduate of Halls High School where he played basketball.  Matt had just became a TSSAA official for Rec basketball and he loved sports, and NASCAR.  He was an employee of the Chick-fil-A on Clinton Highway.  Matt was kind hearted, loved people, and was an over achiever, excelling at whatever endeavor he undertook.  Preceded in death by maternal grandparents; Ethel and Ray Lynch, paternal grandmother, Dorothy Geames; uncle, Marty Geames.  Survivors; loving parents, Angie and Bobby Geames; sister, Erica (Brent) Fawver; niece, Naleigh Fawver; uncle, Michael (Tanya) Geames; cousins, Madison Geames, Chase (Izzy) Geames and Harlee Mae Geames; several other aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of friends including his co-workers at Chick-fil-A.  The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 30, 2024 at Mynatt Funeral Home Fountain City Chapel followed by a 7:00 p.m. Celebration of Life Service, Rev. Charlie Lynch officiating.  Family and friends will meet 12:45 p.m. Wednesday, January 31, 2024 at Anderson-Gouffon Cemetery for a 1:00 p.m. graveside service.  In lieu of flowers, for those who wish donations may be made to St. Jude's Children Hospital  Condolences may be left at www.mynattfh.com
