Mary Sue Russell

Mary Sue Russell, age 80, passed away on January 1, 2024, at her home in Knoxville, surrounded by her family. She was a devoted member of New Fellowship Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and Faye Hipps, her son Joey Russell, and her brother Joel Hipps. She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Bobby Russell, and their children: Scott Russell and Melissa (Scott) Hickey. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Alex Hickey, Brandon Russell, Raquel (Justin) Smith, Connor Hickey, and Ryley Carver. She had one great-grandchild, Boone Grady Smith. Her surviving brothers are Olin Hipps and Keith (Carol) Hipps. Special niece, Michelle Carver, as well as nieces Ellen (Mike) Locurto and Lori (Pat) Murphy, along with several great-nieces. The family will be receiving friends on Thursday, January 4th, 2024, from 5:00-7:00pm at Mynatt Funeral Home Fountain City Chapel. A funeral service will follow, officiated by Rev. Wayne Lay. On Friday, January 5th, 2024 the family and friends will gather at Greenwood Cemetery at 12:45pm for a graveside service at 1:00pm. Online condolences may be expressed at www.mynattfh.com
