Mary Lynn Skeen

Mary Lynn Thomas Skeen age 83 peacefully passed away April 18, 2016. Preceded in death by mother and father Susie and Guy Thomas, brothers Herbert Thomas and Sheridan Hawkins. She was a devoted servant of the Lord and served her church family at Bookwalter as children’s director, youth director, Sunday School teacher, and leader of Disciple Bible study. She also sang in the choir for many years. She retired from WATE where she worked many years as a bookkeeper. A member of the “Inskip gang” who went all the way through school and life as devoted friends. Survived by husband of 63 years, Roy Skeen; daughter Risa Thompson and son Randy Skeen; granddaughters Tamra and Courtney Thompson; son-in-Law Randall Thompson; future grandson-in-law Michael Griffin; many beloved nieces and nephews; many, many “adopted” family members from Bookwalter UMC. Service will be 8pm Wednesday at Bookwalter United Methodist Church, Rev. Wayne Hubbs and Rev. Stephen K. Doyal officiating. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to Bookwalter United Methodist Church. Family and friends will meet 11:45am Thursday at Lynnhurst Cemetery for 12pm interment. Nieces and nephews are honorary pallbearers. Family will receive friends 5-8pm Wednesday at Bookwalter United Methodist Church. www.mynattfh.com
