Mary Lou Blankenship Hunley, devoted mother, went home to be with her Savior April 22, 2016. She was a member of Central Baptist Church of Fountain City where she was a member of and served as secretary for many years to the Fidelis Sunday School Class. She also spent many years working in the church library and serving the Senior Neighbors group. Mary Lou grew up in Fountain City and was attending Central High School in 1942 when she married Clifford Hunley after he was called to fight for his country. She later became the best mother to their four children and spent much of her time and energy taking care of them. Clifford was there to meet her in Heaven along with their son Stan Hunley, and grandsons Michael and Chris Hunley. Mary Lou is survived by son Daniel Hunley and wife Imelda, daughter Carolyn Moore and husband Tim, son David Hunley and wife Pamela, grandchildren Joscelyn Whitson and husband Scott, D.J. Hunley, and Denise Hill, sister Martha B. Kerley, daughter-in-law Brenda Hunley, sister-in-law and brother-in-law Doris and J.D. Rouse, special niece Elizabeth Brown and husband Pete, as well as several other nieces and nephews. “We will all gather again in Heaven.” The family wishes to extend special thanks to her personal nurse, Linda Jennings, and to UT Hospice for the care she received at home. Family and friends will meet 12:45 am Monday at Greenwood Cemetery for graveside services at 1 pm with Rev. Gloria Mencer officiating.
