Mary Grace Mcconkey

Mary Grace Alley McConkey, age 76 of Halls, went to be with the Lord on April 5, 2013. She was born in Norris, Tennessee, a lifelong resident of Halls and a charter member of Christ United Methodist Church. Retired from SunTrust Bank. Mary enjoyed a large extended family in the Halls community and was a very good friend to all that knew her. She enjoyed helping others and was the strength of her family. Preceded in death by parents, James Oscar and Mertie Marie Alley; sister, Thelma Cox; brothers, John, Kyle and Bus Alley; father and mother-in-law, Earl and Erma McConkey. Survived by husband, Don McConkey; son, Wes McConkey and wife Lisa; daughter, Lei Faust and husband Patrick; grandchildren, Megan McConkey, Nolan and Cooper Faust; sisters Pat (Fred) Lawson and Lucille Gustafson; and many nieces and nephews that she cherished. Special thanks to Dr. Bruce Avery and Dr. John Vannoy and their staffs, and the nurses and staff at Tennova Residential Hospice for their care and concern. Family will receive friends 4:00 – 7:00 pm Sunday at Christ United Methodist Church with funeral service to follow with Dr. Bruce Marston officiating with special music by Sarah Holloway. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Christ United Methodist Church, 7535 Maynardville Highway, Knoxville, TN 37938. Family and friends will meet 12:45 pm Monday at Norris Memorial Gardens for 1:00 pm interment.
